Who We Are - GDAB

GDAB (Great Danes And Beezers!) is pronounced by saying the individual letters

Owned and operated by Crystal Reid (formerly Hannah), member of the Great Dane Club of Greater Dallas, the Natural Rearing Breeders Association, and Breeder & Rescue Certification. 

• we do not breed often
• sires and dams are health tested
• sires and dams are proven in AKC conformation 
• we do not sell puppies over the internet
• we meet all potential owners face to face after an extensive screening process
• we do not sell puppies to homes outside of the United States
• puppies will only go to the best of carefully screened homes
• Great Dane puppies will not have ears cropped (and we do not allow our puppies to be cropped after going to new homes) 
• neither Great Danes nor Ibizan Hounds will have dew claws removed
• our puppies are lovingly raised with Puppy Culture and they are weaned to a species appropriate raw diet

Our first litter of Great Danes (5 puppies):

• Willys is a multiple group placing Grand Champion and Best in Specialty Show winner, Novice Trick Dog
• Johnny Cash is major pointed in AKC conformation 
• Groovy is AKC conformation pointed
• Dita earned multiple (35+) AKC companion event titles and multiple titles in other registries

Our first litter of Ibizan Hounds (7 puppies):

• Gavin is a National Specialty Winners Dog, group winning, group placing, Grand Champion, Top 20 for 2018, qualified courser, Novice Trick Dog
• Joaquin is a Grand Champion, multiple group placing, Top 20 for 2019, pointed toward Field Champion, Senior Courser, Novice Trick Dog
• Gavin and Joaquín together won Best Brace in an All Breed Show
• Lego is a Best Beginner Puppy in Show winner, Champion, Top 20 for 2020, and qualified courser
• Ahava has earned the AKC Intermediate Trick Dog title
• Steve has earned the Novice Trick Dog title, is a qualified courser, and Large Gazehound Racing Association pointed

Our second litter of Great Danes (7 puppies):

• Raul has multiple 4 to 6 month puppy show group 2 placements (with lots of lovely competition) and earned his first point towards AKC Championship at 7 months of age, and he is a Best in Sweepstakes winner. 
• Suzie was Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes, Reserve Winners, and Best Bred by Exhibitor at 6 months 3 days of age (her 1st show) and earned her first point towards AKC Championship at 7 months of age
• Nick was the first in the litter to earn a title, when he completed his Novice Trick Dog requirements, he is also pointed in conformation

Willys, BISS GCH GDAB Black Bear Road TKN AOM (CHIC), is the 1st uncropped black Great Dane to win an AKC Best in Specialty Show, the 1st to win a group placement at an AKC show, the 11th to earn an AKC champion title, the 2nd (but 1st male) to earn an AKC grand champion title! Willys is a health tested proven sire, available to select health tested Great Dane bitches of quality conformation and pedigree.

Gavin, GCH GDAB Everything Zen TKN, was Winners Dog at the 2017 Ibizan Hound Club of the United States National Specialty. He finished 2018 as the #9 Ibizan in All Breed Points. He is a health tested proven sire, available to select Ibizan Hound bitches of quality conformation and pedigree.

Joaquin, GCH GDAB You've Got Everything Now SC TKN, ended 2019 as the #1 Ibizan Hound Male/ #4 Ibizan in All Breed Points and #16 in Breed Points! Joaquin is health tested and available to select Ibizan Hound bitches of quality conformation and pedigree.

Lego, CH GDAB Everything is Awesome, was Best Puppy in Show for his first time in the ring at 5 months of age. Lego lives near Houston with his owner Suzanne.

Dita, GDAB Black Burlesque CD PCD BN RM FDC NA NAJ NAP NJP NF NFP BCAT ACT2 SWN SCNE SBNE SCA SBA SHDN TT RATO CGCA CGCU TKA, was a super star. Her owner, Traci, showed incredible dedication and a talent for training our girl to enjoy whatever they attempted!  We are heartbroken that Dita passed away of Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), suddenly at the young age of 4 years.

I started showing dogs as an owner handler in September 2001, and have learned so much since then!  In 2003 I showed my first "client dog," a pretty Boston Terrier.  Great Danes are my primary breed, and the ones with which I have the most experience, but now I've added Ibizan Hounds as a secondary. I've also shown the following:  Smooth Fox Terrier, Manchester Terrier (Toy and Standard), Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Hairless Terrier, French Bulldog, Xoloitzquintli, Boston Terrier, Smooth Collie, Brittany, Field Spaniel, Cane Corso, Doberman Pinscher, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Neapolitan Mastiff, Siberian Husky, Bull Mastiff, Saluki, Afghan Hound, Borzoi, Basenji, Irish Wolfhound, Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Whippet. 

If you would like to talk with me about showing your dog, please contact me via email or facebook.  I most commonly attend shows in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Kansas, but on occasion travel to other states. 

I specialize in raw fed and naturally reared dogs, and since I take on a limited number of clients at a time, your dog gets individualized attention.
